Before I jump into these 3 reasons, let me just say that if you are trying to build a brand or transition into a new career industry or if you’re looking for a new career opportunity, then LinkedIn is a must for you.

The first reason why LinkedIn is such a powerful tool is because there are almost 500 million users on the platform. In fact, almost two people join LinkedIn per second. LinkedIn is one of the only professional social media networks that you can showcase your skills your talents and your abilities and it’s the perfect platform to build Authority in your industry.

Having a well-written and cohesively composed profile helps you if someone typed your name into Google. This makes LinkedIn the perfect place to manage your personal brand online.

The third reason why you need to be on LinkedIn is because it actually out breaks Facebook, believe it or not in terms of business-to-business contacts it’s the third most commonly used social network for business owners and unlike Facebook LinkedIn posts have the potential to reach all of your followers now that’s a win so let’s conclude  the reason why you want to have professional LinkedIn profile.

I hope by at this point you realize the value behind it but you might just be on it because everyone says you should be so I would like to describe more to you the why behind using LinkedIn so that you understand the value of all the work you’re putting into the platform so obviously number one of everything if you are looking for a job.

LinkedIn is the number one tool of recruiters 98% of recruiters are on the platform and it is now surpassed employee referrals as the number one-way people get jobs now. I still think having an inside referral is always going to help you in the job process or job search process but imagine how much greater it’ll be if you are on LinkedIn and the recruiter sees you and is interested plus someone from the company says they think you should be there too so it’s still just super useful to be on LinkedIn active so that you get found and recruiters can find your profile and bring you in for interviews the next reason whether you are on LinkedIn to find a job to build your side hustle or just work on your personal brand or build your full-time business your reach on LinkedIn.

Other platform people don’t seem to understand this but it’s really true when you post on Facebook or LinkedIn your post is going to be seen by your friends and not even all of them thanks to that algorithm right it might get seen by 10 percent. when you post on LinkedIn it is in the feed of every connection you have plus if your friend likes it that means it now gets put in their feed and anyone they are connected with will see it too because it’ll say like let’s say I like somebody’s post it’s now going to in all of my connections feeds saying “Syed Sarfaraz” liked this post and then your post is going to be shown to my whole network on top of your whole network so it’s got to reached unlike any other platform.

This really cool thing with this is like you could have one friend interning or an assistant it’s a major company and because they liked your post it gets seen by all of their connections that they’re connected with from within the company so you never know who you’re going to end up in front of because of what you posted and somebody liking it the other.

Awesome part with LinkedIn is that you can get metrics on who is looking at your content via to post a video a LinkedIn article a picture you can go and see how many people looked at it from each company what cities they’re in what titles people have so if you posted something and 30 people from Microsoft  looked at it and it also says 20 people had the title manager I would be finding managers at Microsoft and departments that interest you and reaching out and connecting because chances are they saw your stuff and then lastly unlike any other platform LinkedIn is all about business.

LinkedIn all about professionalism so when you post about your side hustle on Facebook and your friends are annoyed it’s because they didn’t come on that platform to hear about those sorts of things or when you post on Instagram about your latest trials in your job search that’s not really what it’s for, but I’m linked in that kind of content isn’t just tolerated it’s welcomed so it’s totally fine to be on there talking about business and professional related things that’s the whole point.

If you’re trying to sell something no problem on LinkedIn this is why it is such a great platform and we all need to be on it so I hope this helps you understand why you’re putting all the work into LinkedIn whether it’s for business and outreach to brands or finding your next job whatever your career goals are it will definitely help you.

  • LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network online today
  • It aligns perfectly with Google’s search algorithm
  • It surpasses Facebook in business-to-business connections
